Gilgit, November 3: A Warden of the Gilgit Jail, identified as Muhammad Hakim, was shot dead by unknown assailants near Jutial Bus stand Wednesday evening. The killers were able to flee after opening fire on Hakim.

GB Chief Minister, Mehdi Shah, has ordered the police to investigate the case and raise security level in the city.

Police sources said that it was too early to comment on causes of the murder. Hakim had, reportedly, went to Jutial for a personal work.

Murder of Hakim was the third incident of terrorism in Gilgit city during the last 24 hours. Police have not been able to nab the culprits.

A group of people gathered near the Yadgar Chowk area and protested against the law-enforcing agencies for failing to protect lives of the people.
