Case of the ‘missing woman’, 10 people arrested for investigation in Yasin Valley

PT Report

YASIN: Police have arrested ten people on suspicion for investigation of the mysterious case of a woman’s sudden ‘disappearance’ from a wedding ceremony 13 days back.

According to reports, a 35 year old mother of three suddenly ‘went missing’ after attending a wedding ceremony in Sultanabad locality of Yasin Valley, Ghizar. The  police have failed to find the woman, but they are expecting a breakthrough in this case after the recent arrests. Ladies police have also been sent to Sultanabad to investigate the case.

It is pertinent to note that while cases of gender based violence and violation of women rights regularly happen in all parts of Gilgit – Baltistan, only some get reported, mostly from Ghizar District due to presence of a very active culture of objective journalism.
