“Women Education and Islam”, CAPDO organizes inter-school speech competition in Gilgit

GILGIT: (TR) Children As Partners Development Organization (CAPDO) organized an inter-school speech competition contested by 26 students from 18 schools of Gilgit city. The topic of for speech competition was “Women Education and Islam”.

After interesting and highly insightful competition Khushbakht Mir of Sir Syed Public School Kashrote won the first prize, Abdul Wali Shah of Kashrote High School for Boys the second prize, Fatima Jamil of Government Girls High School Kashrote got the third prize, Shakir Hafeez of Government High School Upper Baseen the fourth prize and Sundus Wali of Northland Public School won the fifth prize.  Ishtiaq Ahmed Yaad, Syed Muhammad Ali Shah and Israruddin Israr functioned as judges for the speech competition.

Secretary Tourism, Naib Khan, who was the chief guest during the competition said that the students of Gilgit – Baltistan are full of talent and given the opportunities they have excelled in all fields, at all levels. He also announced that the Tourism department will arrange a tour of historical places for the children who participated in the speech competition.

Speaking earlier, Mr. Hidayatullah Akhtar,Director Operations of CAPDO said that peace can be established through education and awareness.

Renowned journalist and Chief Executive of Karakuram Publishing Network, Saadat Ali Mujahid, said that speech competition served as a bridge to connect the educational institutions of Gilgit city. He emphasized that similar activities should be held on sustained basis.

Col (r) Obaidullah Baig, Director District Armed Services Board, in his speech appreciated the role of CAPDO for development of the future generations.

One of the highlight of the speech competition was that a Grade 4 Student from Northland Public School, the host institution, functioned as “stage secretary” and won accolades from those who attended the program.

    Well, we are proud of our brothers and sisters who won speech competetion about “Women Education and Islam”, and we are proud of those members of organization who held this programe. Indeed, this programe is a great opportunity for all of us to share our idea about the women’s rights. Since 1960, women were suffering from their basic rights, however, all women are now getting their essential rights because of the Islam because Islam was only one who frist offered women’s rights…

    I congertulate the members of the organization to organized such a programe to encurrage the students of Gilgit Baltistan and for the improvement of education I think Mr Hidayatulla Akhtar has done a great job and I hope that in future the organization will arrange this type of competition on a regular basis
