[Pictorial] Lok Mela brings cultural beauty of Pakistan to Islamabad

Lok Virsa has arranged a festival to celebrate the Pakistani regional cultures. Artists and performers from Balochistan, Gilgit – Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber – Pakthunkhwa, Punjab and Sindh are attending the festival. The festival is going to continue till June 12, 2011.

Federal Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan visited the GB stall and women artisans presented her with cultural caps. In her speech she highlighted the role that cultural activities can play in promoting the soft image of Pakistan.

Earlier, in a speech the executive director of Lok Virsa said that after two years the Lok Mela will be celebrated in Gilgit – Baltistan. He also said that museums will be established in all federating units of the country. [PT Report]
