Japan’s days of disaster

The Geographical Survey of United States has said that the main Island of Japan may have been displaced from it’s original position by around 10 meters due to impact of the 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck North-West Japan yesterday. According to Japan’s officials around 1300 people may have been killed due to the Earthquake and Tsunami. A nuclear reactor in Fukushima has exploded, creating fears of nuclear meltdown. The authorities have ordered evacuation of settlements up-to 20 kilometers around the reactor due to potential radioactivity. [Photo Courtesy: BBC
