Youth protest against Gilgit land mafia

A group of youth belonging to different parts of Gilgit – Baltistan protested in front of the Karachi Press Club, demanding stern action against ‘land mafia’ believed to be active in Gilgit. The speakers said that all communities in Gilgit are suffering at the hands of the the land mafia. They appealed to the public to not take law into their hands and work for justice and peace in the region. The speakers also accused the government of acting like “silent spectators”.     Politically motivated article. Certain so-called media segments in America and Europe wanted to created a fuss about Chinese contractors in GB. including extension of KKH. Some months back an article appeared in American newspaper stating that more than 25000 Chinese army personnel are present in GB as its cut off from rest of Pakistan due to recent floods.

    If construction of dams is dangerous for ecology of area then India should be stop first as she has already started constructing dams in Ladakh bordering GB.

    It all the responsibility of government of Gilgit Baltistan to take legal action against land mafia who are recently working at Gilgit Baltistan.
