[Pictory] Water level in the dammed Hunza River on the rise

Spillway of the dammed Hunza River has been blocked by the Frontier Works Organization for excavation of the landslide deposit. The water level has started to increase at the rate of 8-9 inches per day in the upstream areas. These photographs explain the situation of Gulmit, headquarter of the Gojal Tehsil.

The FWO officials and the political leadership of GB have assured the people of Gojal Valley that new houses will not be damaged due to the increasing water level.
