Shishkat defeats Gulmit Blue, in a thrilling Volleyball match, at Ghulkin

Ghulkin, July 3: The final match proved to be a wonderful display of technique and energy, as Shishkat defeated Gulmit Blue, taking the cup. The first of five sets was won by Shishkat but Gulmit made an impressive come back, defeating Shishat in the next two sets. Shishkat won the fourth set, building the aura for a thrilling fifth set, the conclusion. Both teams played brilliantly in the last set, decided on the final point, with Shishkat becoming the volleyball champions, for this year.

The final of the tournament organized by youth of Ghlukin provided a wonderful opportunity for players from Shishkat, Ghulkin and Gulmit to come together and enjoy the summers. Early in the day Shishkat defeated Gulmit Green, in the semi finals, while Gulmit – Blue defeated Kamaris, marching into the final.

Renowed poet, educationist and social activist Nazir Ahmed Bulbul presided over the final ceremony while Rehan Shah, former radio broadcaster and present secretary to the Chief Executive of NALA, was the chief guest. Rehan Shah announced cash and other prizes for the finalist teams. Bulbul urged the youth to come forward and embrace spirit of the game, working for growth, development and fraternity in the region.
